On Monday afternoon, April 4 a man was killed in a fatal wreck in Greenville County.
According to state troopers, the accident happened at around 3 p.m. at Geer Highway and Persimmon Ridge Road. David Joseph Davies aged 36 and of Seneca was driving a 2014 Toyota west on U.S. 276 when for reasons as yet unknown the vehicle left the road on the left side then drove off a four foot embankment, hit a tree and flipped.
Davies, who was wearing a seat belt was pronounced dead at the scene and was later identified by the Greenville County coroner’s office.
The highway was temporarily shut down to clear the scene of the accident and the investigation into why Davies’ vehicle left the road is ongoing including the results of toxicology.
