Two people were killed and two others were left in critical condition after a train collided with a car this week in Tennessee.
The victims, three of which were basketball players at Roane State Community College, included 22 year-old Roderick Drummond, 22, from Greenville, SC, siblings Darius J. Gallaher, 20 and Jadah Gallaher, 18, and 20 year-old Hunter Crass, 20. According to the preliminary report the car in which the victims were traveling attempted to cross a railroad when it was it by a train. Roderick Drummond and Jadah Gallaher were killed in the accident while Darius J. Gallaher, the driver, and Crass continue to fight for their lives.
The survivors are currently being treated at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Crass’ father says that his son suffered severe injuries including a collapsed lung, but was recently removed from a ventilator and is breathing on his own.
Apparently the driver of the car didn’t see the train as it approached, setting the stage for the accident. The train’s two employees were not harmed in the incident.
